Impressions from the reading life
Guess who's back in the "It's Monday" game?
I'm participating in #TBRTakedown and started this week with The Straw Man by Heinrich Mann, which I got as an audiobook by the publisher. My plan is to use this book as "first in a series" while it is in fact first in a cycle about the German Kaiserreich. So far, protagonist Diederich has been the most abominable creature in literature. But I know that is kind of the point.
The other book I plan on starting today is Jules and Jim by Jean-Pierre Roché. A sneak peek convinced me it would be a quick read and I am looking forward to it. Also, I need to rea a book that has been adapted to a movie for another challenge.
